สาระเบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับการวัดและประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ของผู้เรียน เช่นความหมาย ความสำคัญ ประเภท และลักษณะของการวัดและประเมินผลทางการศึกษา มีดังนี้
