อุทยานแห่งชาติทับลาน ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ของตำบลบุพราหมณ์ ในเขตอำเภอนาดี จังหวัดปราจีนบุรี, อำเภอปักธงชัย อำเภอวังน้ำเขียว อำเภอครบุรี อำเภอเสิงสาง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา และอำเภอปะคำ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ มีพื้นที่ทั้งหมดประมาณ 2,240 ตารางกิโลเมตร หรือ 1,400,000 ไร่ ประกาศเป็นอุทยานฯ เมื่อวันที่ 23 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2524

ภายในอุทยานฯ มีสถานที่น่าสนใจ ได้แก่

ป่าลานและสวนพักผ่อนหย่อนใจ อยู่บริเวณที่ทำการอุทยานฯ เป็นป่าลานที่ขึ้นเองตามธรรมชาติแห่งสุดท้ายของประเทศไทย เป็นพันธุ์ไม้ดึกดำบรรพ์ตระกูลปาล์มที่หายาก จะออกดอกเมื่อต้นมีอายุ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ช่วงฤดูออกดอกในราวเดือนเมษายนถึงเดือนมิถุนายน ดอกมีสีเหลืองสดสวยงามมาก หลังออกดอกแล้วต้นลานนั้นจะตายไป สวนพักผ่อนหย่อนใจ ติดกับที่ทำการอุทยานฯ พื้นที่ประมาณ 20ไร่ ประกอบด้วยต้นลานและพันธุ์ไม้นานาชนิด ภายในร่มรื่น มีซุ้มสำหรับนั่งพักผ่อน กลางสวนมีสระน้ำขนาดใหญ่นอกจากดงลานแล้ว ภายในพื้นที่อุทยานฯ ยังปกคลุมด้วยป่าเต็งรังและป่าดงดิบที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ด้วยพันธุ์ไม้นานาชนิด เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ป่า และนกชนิดต่างๆ

น้ำตกทับลานหรือน้ำตกเหวนรก อยู่ห่างจากบ้านทับลานประมาณ7 กิโลเมตร เดินเท้าอีกประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร จึงจะถึงตัวน้ำตก เป็นน้ำตกที่สวยงาม มีน้ำไหลเฉพาะในช่วงฤดูฝนเท่านั้น

อ่างเก็บน้ำทับลาน อยู่ห่างจากบ้านทับลานประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร เป็นอ่างเก็บน้ำที่สวยงามล้อมรอบไปด้วยภูเขา อากาศเย็นสบายเหมาะแก่การพักผ่อน

น้ำตกห้วยใหญ่ อยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกของอุทยานฯ เป็นน้ำตกขนาดใหญ่ที่มีความสวยงาม มีความสูง ประมาณ 50เมตร กว้าง 30 เมตร ไหลแผ่กว้างเป็นม่านน้ำตก มีน้ำไหลตลอดปี แต่ไม่มีแอ่งน้ำให้เล่น

เขื่อนลำมูลบน เขื่อนดินสูง 30 เมตร เป็นต้นน้ำของแม่น้ำมูลที่เกิดจากผืนป่าทับลานบนสันเขื่อนมองเห็นทิวทัศน์สวยงามของอ่างเก็บน้ำ

หาดชมตะวัน เป็นชายหาดริมอ่างเก็บน้ำของเขื่อนลำปลายมาศ หาดยาวประมาณ 300 เมตร มีเรือให้เช่าชมทิวทัศน์รอบอ่างเก็บน้ำ

ค่าเข้าอุทยานฯ ผุ้ใหญ่ คนละ 20 บาท เด้ก คนละ 10 บาท ชาวต่างประเทศ ผู้ใหญ่ คนละ 100 บาท เด็ก คนละ 50 บาท

อุทยานฯ ยังไม่มีบ้านพักบริการแก่นักท่องเที่ยว หากนักท่องเที่ยวต้องการเข้าพักแรมจะต้องนำเต็นท์ไปเอง โดยเสียค่าพื้นที่คนละ 30 บาท/คืน

การเดินทาง จากอำเภอกบินทร์บุรีใช้เส้นทางหลวงหมายเลข 304 สายอำเภอกบินทร์บุรี-นครราชสีมาระยะทางประมาณ 32 กิโลเมตร ที่ทำการอุทยานตั้งอยู่ริมทางหลวง (ห่างจากจังหวัดปราจีนบุรี ประมาณ 90 กิโลเมตร และห่างจากจังหวัดนครราชสีมา ประมาณ 107 กิโลเมตร)
