พระราชวังบวรสถานพิมุข (วังหลัง) สร้างขึ้นใน พ.ศ. ๒๓๒๘ ตั้งอยู่ในกรุงเทพมหานครริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาฝั่งตะวันตก ปากคลองบางกอกน้อย พระราชวังนี้เป็นที่ประทับของกรมพระ ราชวังหลังเพื่อทำหน้าที่รักษาพระนครทางด้านทิศตะวันตก กรมพระราชวังหลังประทับอยู่ในระยะเวลาอันสั้น เมื่อเสด็จทิวงคต รัชกาลที่ ๑ ก็มิได้ตั้งตำแหน่งนี้อีก จึงหมดสภาพความเป็นวังตั้งแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๕ พื้นที่บริเวณนี้จึงได้ใช้เป็นโรงเรียน เรียกว่า โรงเรียนกุลสตรีวังหลัง ต่อมาได้ย้ายไปยังที่ตั้งของโรงเรียนวัฒนาวิทยาลัย ตำบลบางกะปิ เขตพระโขนง จึงใช้บริเวณวังหลังเป็นที่ตั้งโรงพยาบาลศิริราชมาจนทุกวันนี้
