เมื่อวันที่ ๑๙ เมษายน ๒๕๑๖ ให้ชื่อว่า “โรงเรียนพุทธบูชาวิทยาคม”
เป็นโรงเรียนสหศึกษา เปิดสอนตามหลักสูตรมัธยมศึกษาสายสามัญ โดยเปิดเรียน
ครั้งแรกเมื่อ วันที่ ๔ มิถุนายน ๒๕๑๖ มีนักเรียน ๗๗ คน มีครู ๔ คน และมีนาย
อินทร์ วงศ์สมบูรณ์ เป็นครูใหญ่ในระยะเริ่มแรกนี้โรงเรียนต้องอาศัยโรงเรียน
ประถมสามัญวัดพุทธบูชาและศาลาวัดเป็นที่เรียน

โรงเรียนจึงได้รับเงินประมาณจากกรมสามัญศึกษาให้สร้างอาคารเรียนเป็น
ตึก ๓ ชั้น ๑๘ ห้องเรียนและได้ย้ายเข้าไปอยู่ในอาคารหลังใหม่เมื่อปี พ.ศ.
๒๕๒๐ และในปีเดียวกันนี้ก็ได้ยุบรวบรวมโรงเรียนประถมสามัญวัดพุทธบูชา
กับโรงเรียนพุทธบูชาวิทยาคมเข้าด้วยกันและได้เปิดสอนในระดับ
มัธยมศึกษาเพียงอย่างเดียว ในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๒๗ โรงเรียนพุทธบูชา
วิทยาคมได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น “โรงเรียนวัดพุทธบูชา ” และมีจำนวนนักเรียน
ครูอาจารย์ตลอดจนอาคาร อาคาร ประกอบเพิ่มเติมมากขึ้นตามลำดับ
นักเรียนที่เข้ามาศึกษาเล่าเรียนนอกจากจะเป็นเยาวชนในท้องถิ่นชุมชนบาง
