• ภูมิศาสตร์ : กัมพูชา มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 181,035 ตารางกิโลเมตร มีส่วนที่กว้างที่สุดจากทิศตะวันออกไปทิศตะวันตก 580 กิโลเมตร จากเหนือจรดใต้ 450 กิโลเมตร
อาณาเขตติดต่อ

• กัมพูชา มีทะเลสาบน้ำจืดซึ่งเกิดจากแม่น้ำโขงขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในเอเชียชื่อว่า “โตนเลสาบ” (Tonle Sap) มีแม่น้ำโขงไหลผ่านยาว 500 กิโลเมตร จากนั้นไหลเข้าสู่เวียดนามลงสู่ทะเลจีนใต้ นับว่าเป็นแม่น้ำนานาชาติ และเชื่อกันว่าปลาบึกซึ่งเป็นปลาน้ำจืดที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลกว่ายทวนน้ำจากโตนเลสาปขึ้นสู่ประเทศไทย-ลาว ก่อนไปผสมพันธุ์ที่จีนซึ่งเป็นต้นแม่น้ำโขง
• โตนเลสาป อยู่ห่างจากกรุงพนมเปญประมาณ 100 กิโลเมตร ฤดูน้ำหลากน้ำท่วมถึง 7,500 ตารางกิโลเมตร ลึกถึง 10 เมตร โตนเลสาปครอบคลุมพื้นที่ 5 จังหวัด ได้แก่ กำปงธม กำปงซะนัง โพธิสัตว์ พระตะบอง และเสียมเรียบ ในโตนเลสาบมีปลาชุกชุมกว่า 300 ชนิด
• ภูเขา ยอดเขาสูงที่สุดของกัมพูชาคือ พนมอาออรัล สูงจากระดับน้ำทะเลปานกลาง 1,813 เมตรทิศเหนือของกัมพูชามีเขตแดนติดกับประเทศไทยระยะทางยาว 750 กิโลเมตร ติดกับจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ศรีสะเกษ สุรินทร์ บุรีรัมย์ สระแก้ว จันทบุรี ตราด โดยมีเทือกเขาพนมดงรัก และเทือกเขาบรรทัดกั้น
• ป่าไม้ กัมพูชาเป็นประเทศที่มีป่าไม้อุดมสมบูรณ์มากที่สุดหากเปรียบเทียบกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน ปัจจุบันป่าไม้ลดลงอย่างมากหลังจากที่รัฐบาลเปิดให้สัมปทานป่ากับบริษัทเอกชนจากประเทศ อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย และญี่ปุ่น
• ภูมิอากาศ เป็นแบบร้อนชื้นแถบมรสุม
• ฤดูฝน เริ่มจากเดือนพฤษภาคม-ตุลาคม (เดือนตุลาคมมีฝนตกชุกที่สุด)

• ภาษา กล่าวกันว่าภาษาและสำเนียงเขมรนั้นเป็นภาษาที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มีรากฐานมากจากอักษรพราหมณ์ ทางภาคใต้ของอินเดีย และมีอิทธิพลของภาษาบาลี และสันสกฤตที่มากับพุทธศาสนา เมื่อฝรั่งเศสเข้ามาปกครองกัมพูชา จึงมีประชากรไม่น้อยพูดภาษาฝรั่งเศสได้ ปัจจุบันภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาที่ 2 และมีชาวกัมพูชารุ่นใหม่ไม่น้อยที่สามารถพูดได้ทั้งภาษาฝรั่งเศส อังกฤษ ไทย ฯลฯ ซึ่งมีโรงเรียนเปิดสอนหลายแห่งโดยเฉพาะในจังหวัดเสียมเรียบ และพนมเปญซึ่งเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวหลักของกัมพูชา
