คณะราษฏรที่ก่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองประเทศไทยนั้น ได้เปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองจากระบอบสมบูรณาญาสิทธิราชย์มาเป็นระบอบประชาธิปไตย โดยประกอบไปด้วยคนสองกลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มนักเรียนไทยในต่างประเทศ และกลุ่มนายทหารในประเทศไทย ที่มีพื้นฐานการศึกษาคล้ายกัน คือ วิชาจากทางประเทศตะวันตก ที่มีรูปแบบการปกครองที่ใกล้ชิดกับประเทศของเรา จึงเห็นถึงความเจริญก้าวหน้าของประชาชนในยุโรปตะวันตกที่ทุกคนต่างมีส่วนร่วมในการปกครอง ทำให้ประเทศมีความเจริญก้าวหน้ามากขึ้น จึงทำให้บุคคลทั้งสองนี้มีความคิดเห็นว่าจนควรจะมีส่วนร่วมในการปกครองประเทศ
