ชมภูพานเผ่าไทย ชิมข้าวหอมใหม่ไทสกล เป็นงานประจำปีของจังหวัดสกลนคร ที่จัดขึ้นหลังจากที่ได้มีการจัดงานฉลองเมืองสกลนคร 150 ปี เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2531 โดยกำหนดจัดงานขึ้นในวันเสาร์ สัปดาห์ที่ 3 ของเดือนธันวาคมของทุกปี มีกำหนดปีละ 7 วันบริเวณศาลากลางจังหวัดสกลนครในวันเสาร์ซึ่งเป็นวันเปิดงานจะมีการแสดงขบวนแห่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมประเพณีของกลุ่มชนต่างๆ ที่อยู่ในจังหวัดทุกกลุ่ม เช่น กลุ่มผู้ไทย (ภูไท) โส้ ย้อ โย้ย กะเลิง กะตาก ลาว ญวน และจีน เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ในแต่ละวันจะมีกิจกรรมประกอบงานต่างๆ อีกมากมาย เช่น การประกวดนางสาวสกลนคร การออกร้านแสดงนิทรรศการของส่วนราชการต่างๆ การประกวดศิลปวัฒนธรรมประเพณีพื้นบ้านการจัดพาแลง การแสดงมหรสพต่างๆ การออกร้านกาชาด การจำหน่ายสินค้าราคาถูกของร้านค้าเอกชน เป็นต้น
