การค้นคว้าอิสระนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของสมาชิกสามัญสมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวนครลำปางที่ต่อแผนกประชาสัมพันธ์โรงไฟฟ้าแม่เมาะ โดยการสร้างแบบสอบถามออกภาคสนามสัมภาษณ์จำนวน 37 คน (100%) สถิติที่ใช้ ค่าร้อยละ โดยใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ SPSS Version 16/PC+

สรุปผลการวิจัย พบว่าสมาชิกสามัญสมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวนครลำปางพึงพอใจต่อแผนกประชาสัมพันธ์โรงไฟฟ้าแม่เมาะ ในเรื่องคุณภาพของข้อมูลข่าวสาร การให้บริการ ดูแลความปลอดภัยระหว่างเข้าทำร่วมกิจกรรมกับองค์กร การส่งข่าวรวดเร็ว และตรงเวลาซึ่งเห็นด้วยที่ผู้ปฏิบัติงานรักองค์กรและมีความเชื่อมั่นผู้บังคับบัญชาที่ทำงานด้านผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าควบคู่กับการรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม และทั้งมีภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีต่อสื่อมวลชน
