บริษัท สยามสปอร์ต ซินดิเคท จำกัด (มหาชน) ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 2516 ภายใต้ชื่อ "ห้างหุ้นส่วนจำกัด สยามสปอร์ตพับลิชชิ่ง" โดยนายระวิ โหลทอง ซึ่งเดิมทำงานเป็นหัวหน้าข่าวหนังสือพิมพ์ไทยรัฐ ด้วยทุนจดทะเบียนเริ่มแรกเพียง 500,000 บาท

เมื่อกิจการขยายมากขึ้น นายระวิ โหลทอง จึงจัดตั้งกิจการในรูปบริษัทจำกัดขึ้นในปี 2525 เพื่อรับโอนการดำเนินกิจการเดิม โดยตั้งบริษัทใหม่คือ "บริษัท สยามสปอร์ตพริ้นติ้ง จำกัด" โดยมีสิ่งพิมพ์เพิ่มมาอีก 6 ฉบับคือ นิตยสารมวยโลก, หนังสือพิมพ์สยามกีฬารายวัน, นิตยสารมวยสยาม, นิตยสารมิวสิคเอ็กเพรส, นิตยสารแค้มปิ้งท่องเที่ยว และนิตยสารเวิล์ดซอกเกอร์ (เลิกจัดพิมพ์ไปในปี 2534)
นอกจากหนังสือพิมพ์และนิตยสารเหล่านี้ บริษัท สยามสปอร์ตพริ้นติ้งยังรับจ้างพิมพ์งานทุกงานทุกประเภทจากภายนอก รวมทั้งหนังสือพิมพ์ที่ดำเนินการโดยสำนักพิมพ์อื่น, แผ่นพับ, โปสเตอร์, แบบฟอร์มต่างๆ ฯลฯ เนื่องจากธุรกิจมีการเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว จึงจำเป็นต้องว่าจ้างบุคลากรระดับสูงมาช่วยในการบริหารของบริษัทในด้านต่างๆ และจัดรูปแบบบัญชีใหม่ให้ถูกต้อง จึงได้จัดตั้ง บริษัท สยามสปอร์ต ซินดิเคท จำกัด เมื่อวันที่ 27 กุมภาพัมธ์ 2533 ด้วยต้นทุนจดทะเบียน 5 ล้านบาท
ในช่วงเดือนมิถุนายนปีเดียวกัน บริษัทได้เพิ่มทุนจดทะเบียนเป็น 50 ล้านบาท โดยมีบริษัทเงินทุนหลักทรัพย์ ภัทรธนกิจ จำกัด (มหาชน) เข้าร่วมถือหุ้นในสัดส่วนร้อยละ 8 บริษัท สยามสปอร์ต ซินดิเคท ได้รับโอนเครื่องพิมพ์และอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ รวมทั้งใบอณุญาตของหัวหนังสือทั้งหมดจากบริษัท สยามสปอร์ต ซินดิเคท จำกัด และได้เริ่มดำเนินการตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 เมษายน 2533 เป็นต้นมา
