เมื่อฉันยังเป็นเด็ก ผมเป็นคนที่เรียนหนังสือค่อนข้างแย่ ไม่ว่าวิชาไหนๆก็แย่ไปหมด เพราะพ่อคาดหวังให้ผมเรียนเก่งเหมือนลูกพี่ลูกน้อง พ่อบังคับให้ผมเรียนวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์และคณิตศาสตร์ เพื่อให้ผมเก่ง แต่ถึงกระนั้นผมไม่ได้ชอบมันเลย แต่มีวิชาหนึ่งที่ผมรู้สึกชอบมันมากและตัวเองก็ทำได้ดี นั่นคือ วิชาภาษาอังกฤษ เพราะครูที่สอนผมนั้นสอนสนุกและใจดี ทำให้รู้สึกรักมันและเริ่มศึกษาเกี่ยวกับภาษามากขึ้น เริ่มจากการฟังเพลงสากลและฝึกสนทนากับตัวเอง และผมได้ศึกษาวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกมากขึ้นผ่านทางสื่อออนไลน์ ช่วงนั้นเองทำให้โลกของผมมันกว้างขึ้นและมีอิทธิพลกับชีวิตผมมากขึ้นไม่ว่าจะเป็นรายการทีวีที่ผมดูเป็นประจำ ภาษาที่ใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน แม้กระทั่งกีฬา ผมเป็นนักบาสเกตบอลของจังหวัดสงขลา และเป็นโชคดีของผม เพื่อนร่วมทีมของผมนั้นเป็นลูกครึ่งไทย-ไอริช ผมจึงมีโอกาสได้ฝึกภาษาในการสนทนากับเขา
ต่อมาผมได้เข้า ศิลป์จีน เนื่องจาก ผมต้องการจะเรียนรู้ภาษาต่างประเทศให้มากกว่าสองภาษา และผมตั้งใจจะเรียนต่อภาษาจีนในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย แต่เนื่องจากผมเป็นนักบาสเกตบอลของจังหวัด จึงต้องแข่งขันที่ต่างจังหวัดบ่อยครั้ง ทำให้เกรดของผมต่ำกว่าที่จะเข้าศึกษาต่อภาษาจีนในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยได้ ทำให้ผมรู้สึกเศร้าใจ แต่โค้ชของผมรวมทั้งครอบครัว ต่างก็พูดเหมือนกันว่า ผมมีสิ่งที่เด็กทั่วไปในโรงเรียนไม่มี นั้นคือ ประสบการณ์ในชีวิตจริงนอกโรงเรียน เพราะต้องไปไกลจากบ้านบ่อยครั้ง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาคเหนือ ภาคอีสาน ทำให้ผมได้เห็นวิถีชีวิตของคนในภูมิภาคที่แตกต่างกันไป มีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์ในแต่ละท้องถิ่น ผมชอบที่จะเรียนรู้สิ่งรอบตัวและเก็บเกี่ยวประสบการณ์เหล่านั้นมาใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน ทำให้ผมตระหนักได้ว่า ยังมีสิ่งที่ผมถนัดอยู่คือ ภาษาอังกฤษและกีฬา
ผมจึงตัดสินใจเข้าศึกษาต่อในคณะศึกษาศาสตร์ เอกพละศึกษา โดยมีความฝันอยากเป็นครูพละที่ไปสอนในโรงเรียนนานาชาติ ซึ่งมีความหลากหลายในวัฒนธรรมมากกว่าโรงเรียนทั่วไป อีกทั้งในปัจจุบันได้เปิดอาเซียน ทำให้ผมต้องศึกษาอังกฤษเพิ่มเติมมากขึ้น อาจารย์ในคณะได้แนะนำโครงการนี้ให้กับผม ผมจึงมาสมัครเข้าร่วมเพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านภาษาของผมและศึกษาวัฒนธรรมต่างๆในประเทศอาเซียน
