เมื่อวันที่ 28 กันยายน 2558 เวลา 13.00 น. สำนักศึกษาทั่วไป มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ได้จัดโครงการกิจกรรมวันคล้ายวันสถาปนา สำนักศึกษาทั่วไป มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ครบรอบ 7 ปี ณ ห้องประชุมแม่น้ำของ ชั้น 2 คณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ โดยมี รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ประยุกต์ ศรีวิไล รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายพัฒนานิสิตและบริการวิชาการ เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน และ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.อนงค์ฤทธิ์ แข็งแรง ผู้อำนวยสำนักศึกษาทั่วไป กล่าวรายงานวัตถุประสงค์ โดยกิจกรรมแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ ในภาคเช้าเป็นพิธีทำบุญตักบาตร ช่วงบ่ายมี การเสวนาพิเศษ เรื่อง เหลียวหลังแลหน้าพัฒนาGE จากนั้นมีพิธีมอบโล่และเกียรติบัตรอาจารย์ผู้ประสานงานรายวิชาศึกษาทั่วไป ประจำปีการศึกษา 2557 ประกอบด้วย
- รางวัลอาจารย์สอนดี GE ดีเด่น ประจำปีการศึกษา 2557
- รางวัลอาจารย์ผู้สอน GE ที่ให้การร่วมมือในการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมสำนักศึกษาทั่วไป
