ผู้จัดการทั่วไปมีหน้าที่และความรับผิดชอบในการบริหาร และควบคุมการปฏิบัติงานของทุกฝ่ายภายในโรงแรมให้ดำเนินไปตามเป้าหมายและนโยบายที่คณะกรรมการบริหารของโรงแรมกำหนดไว้

1.กำหนดเป้าหมาย (Targeting) ของโรงแรม

2.วางแผนการดำเนินงาน ( Planning ) ของทุกฝ่าย เป็นไปตามเป้าหมายที่กำหนดไว้แล้ว

3.มอบหมายงานให้ผู้ใต้บังคับบัญชาอย่างถูกต้อง และเหมาะสม (Assigming)

4.สร้างความเข้าใจ และความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีภายในโรงแรม (Communication)

5.ปรับปรุงการปฏิบัติงาน พร้อมทั้งประเมินผลการปฏิบัติงานของฝ่ายต่าง ๆ ในโรงแรม (Evaluation & improvement)

6.จัดฝึกอบรมเพื่อพัฒนาบุคคลากรภายในโรงแรม (Training)
