ญาณธรรมจักรซึ่งพระพุทธองค์ตรัสเทศนาอริยสัจ มีปริวัฏฏ์ 3 ประการนั้นได้แก่
1.สัจจญาณ คือ พระปรีชาญาณอันตรัสรู้ซึ่งอริยสัจด้วยพระองค์เอง จะมีบุคคลผู้หนึ่ง ผู้ใดเป็นครูอาจารย์ของพระองค์นั้นหามิได้
2.กิจจญาณ คือ พระปรีชาญาณอันแทงตลอดในกิจแห่งอริยสัจ 4 ตรัสรู้แจ้งว่าทุกขสัจนี้ สมควรที่พระอริยบุคคลจะพึงกำหนดรู้ สมุทัยสัจนี้สมควรที่พระอริยบุคคลจะพึงละเสีย นิโรธสัจคือพระนิพพานนั้น สมควรที่พระอริยบุคคลจะพึงกระทำให้แจ้งในขันธสันดาน มรรคสัจอันเป็นทางปฏิบัติให้ถึงซึ่งการดับทุกข์นั้น สมควรที่พระอริยบุคคลจะพึงเจริญไว้ในสันดาน
3.กตญาณ คือ พระปรีชาญาณอันรู้แจ้งกิจแห่งอริยสัจ 4 อันกระทำเสร็จแล้ว และรู้ว่าตนได้กำหนดรู้ทุกขสัจเป็นอารมณ์อยู่แล้ว รู้ว่าสมุทัยสัจคือตัณหานั้น ได้ละขาดจากสันดานแล้ว รู้ว่านิโรธสัจคือพระนิพพานนั้นตนได้กระทำประจักษ์แจ้งในสันดานแล้ว รู้ว่ามรรคสัจอันเป็นทางปฏิบัติให้ถึงซึ่งความดับทุกข์นั้น ตนได้เจริญบริบูรณ์แล้ว11)
