โครงงานนี้ได้นำเสนอเครื่องล้างพืชหัวเนื่องจากในปัจจุบันประเทศไทยมีเกษตรกรชาวสวนนิยมปลูกพืชหัว เช่น ถั่วลิสง ข่า เป็นต้น ล้วนแต่เป็นพืชเศรษฐกิจที่เพิ่มรายได้ให้กับอาชีพเกษตรชาวสวนเป็นอย่างมาก และพืชหัวต้องมีการชำระล้างเพื่อทำความสะอาดก่อนการจำหน่ายโดยส่วนใหญ่จะใช้กำลังคนและเวลาในการล้างทำความสะอาดเป็นจำนวนมาก
จึงทำให้เกิดแนวคิดในการออกแบบเครื่องล้างพืชหัวโดยขนาดของตัวถังมีความกว้าง 50 เซนติเมตร ความยาว 60 เซนติเมตร และสามารถบรรจุน้ำหนักของพืชได้ไม่เกิน 5 กิโลกรัม ใช้มอเตอร์ในการหมุนแกนเพลาขนาด 1/4 แรงม้า และใช้ Arduinoควบคุมการทำงานของเครื่องล้างพืชหัว
