ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน (ASEAN Economic Community : AEC)
AEC หรือ ASEAN Economic Community ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน เป็นเป้าหมายการรวมตัวกันของประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนเพื่อเพิ่มอำนาจต่อรองกับคู่ค้า และเพิ่มขีดความสามารถการแข่งขันทางด้านเศรษฐกิจระดับโลก รวมถึงมีการยกเว้นภาษีสินค้าบางชนิดให้กับประเทศสมาชิก ส่งเสริมให้ภูมิภาคมีความเจริญมั่งคั่ง มั่นคง ประชาชนอยู่ดีกินดี
โดยในการประชุมสุดยอดอาเซียน ASEAN Summit ครั้งที่ 8 เมื่อ 4 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2545 ณ กรุงพนมเปญ ประเทศกัมพูชา ที่ได้เห็นชอบให้อาเซียนกำหนดทิศทาง ได้มีการดำเนินงานที่แน่ชัดเพื่อนำไปสู่เป้าหมายที่ชัดเจน ได้แก่การเป็นประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน โดยจะมีตลาดและฐานการผลิตร่วมกัน และจะมีการเคลื่อนย้ายสินค้า บริการ การลงทุน เงินทุน และแรงงานมีฝีมืออย่างเสรีสำหรับการตั้งประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนได้กำหนดให้สำเร็จภายในปี พ.ศ. 2558 ( ค.ศ. 2015)
