สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (Association of South East Asian Nations : ASEAN) หรือ ประชาคมอาเซียน เป็นเป้าหมายการรวมตัวกันของประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน 10 ประเทศ ประกอบด้วย ไทย พม่า ลาว เวียดนาม มาเลเซีย สิงคโปร์ อินโดนีเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ กัมพูชา และ บรูไน เพื่อเพิ่มอำนาจต่อรองและขีดความสามารถการแข่งขันของอาเซียนในเวทีระหว่างประเทศ รวมถึงให้อาเซียนมีความแข็งแกร่ง มีภูมิต้านทานที่ดี ในการรับมือกับปัญหาใหม่ ๆ ระดับโลก



ประชาคมอาเซียน เปรียบกับการเป็นครอบครัวเดียวกันของประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน ถือกำเนิดขึ้นอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อเดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2546 พร้อมกับมีการร่วมลงนามในปฏิญญาให้เป็นประชาคมเดียวกันให้สำเร็จภายใน พ.ศ. 2558 (ค.ศ. 2015) พร้อมกับมีการแบ่งประชาคมย่อยออกเป็น 3 ประชาคม หรือ 3 เสาหลัก ได้แก่



ประชาคมการเมืองและความมั่นคงอาเซียน (ASEAN Political and Security Community – APSC)



ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน (Asean Economics Community – AEC)



ประชาคมสังคมและวัฒนธรรมอาเซียน (Asean Socio-Cultural Community – ASCC)
