          2. เสนอให้ถือเอาปีที่ท่านนะบีมุฮัมมัด เริ่มเผยแพร่ศาสนาอิสลาม เป็นปีเริ่มต้นศักราช


          3. เสนอให้ถือเอาปีที่ท่านนะบีมุฮัมมัด อพยพจากเมืองมักกะห์สู่เมืองมะดีนะห์ เป็นปีเริ่มต้นศักราช


          4. เสนอให้ถือเอาปีที่ท่านนะบีมุฮัมมัด เสียชีวิต เป็นปีเริ่มต้น ศักราช

       จึงเริ่มต้นนับศักราชของอิสลามตั้งแต่ปีที่ท่านนะบีมุฮัมมัด  และบรรดามุสลิมได้อพยพจากมักกะห์สู่มะดีนะห์ คือ ฮิจเราะห์ศักราช (ฮ.ศ.) นับแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา  ปัจจุบันมีผู้นับถือศาสนาอิสลาม หรือที่เรียกว่ามุสลิมอยู่ทั่วโลกไม่น้อยกว่า ๑,๘๐๐ ล้านคน
