สถานการณ์การท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย จากสถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจโลกที่เริ่มฟื้นตัว ส่งผล ให้ในปี 2556 นักท่องเที่ยวเกือบทุกประเทศเดินทางเข้า มาท่องเที่ยวในไทยเพิ่มขึ้น โดยนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ เพิ่มขึ้นจากปีก่อนร้อยละ 18.8 เป็น 26.5 ล้านคน ที่ ขยายตัวสูงมากได้แก่นักท่องเที่ยวจากจีนและรัสเซีย โดยเฉพาะนักท่องเที่ยวชาวจีน เดินทางมาไทยเพิ่มขึ้น มาก ในปี 2556 มีสัดส่วนสูงถึงร้อยละ 17.5 ของ จ านวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติทั้งหมด (ตารางที่ 2) และขยายตัวสูงมาก ทั้งที่สถิตินักท่องเที่ยวจีนเดินทาง ไปประเทศต่างๆ เพิ่มขึ้นไม่มากนัก
