ปตท.และเอ็มซีซี ได้ร่วมกันจัดตั้งบริษัท PTT MCC Biochem Co.,ltd. สัดส่วนฝ่ายละ 50% สร้างโรงงานผลิตพลาสติกชีวภาพที่ย่อยสลายได้ตามธรรมชาติ หรือพีบีเอส ที่นิคมอุตสาหกรรมเอเชีย มาบตาพุด จังหวัดระยอง มีกำลังการผลิตปีละ 20,000 ตัน ด้วยเงินลงทุน 100 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือกว่า 3,000 ล้านบาท และใช้เทคโนโลยีของเอ็มซีซี จนล่าสุดนี้ กำลังเปิดประมูลหาผู้รับเหมาก่อสร้างโรงงาน พร้อมทั้งคาดว่าจะเริ่มก่อสร้างโรงงานได้ในเดือน พ.ย.นี้ ก่อนที่จะเปิดดำเนินกิจการในเชิงพาณิชย์ไตรมาสแรกปี 58 พร้อมกับการเข้าสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน
