1. ข้อมูลทั่วไป

การจดทะเบียนสมรสหรือจดทะเบียนหย่าที่สถานกงสุลฯ จะกระทำได้
เฉพาะการจดทะเบียนระหว่างบุคคลสัญชาติไทย หรือระหว่างบุคคลสัญชาติไทยกับต่างชาติ และเป็นการจดทะเบียนตามกฎหมายไทย
การขอจดทะเบียนฯ ต้องติดต่อนัดหมายล่วงหน้าอย่างน้อย 7 วันทำการ
ผู้ขอจดทะเบียนจะต้องส่งเอกสารประกอบให้เจ้าหน้าที่ล่วงหน้าเพื่อเตรียมจัดพิมพ์

การจดทะเบียนฯ จะนัดหมายเจ้าหน้าที่กงสุลของสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ในวันทำการ และใช้เวลาประมาณ 30 นาที ไม่เสียค่าธรรมเนียม
2. เอกสารประกอบคำร้องการขอจดทะเบียนสมรสมี ดังนี้

หนังสือเดินทางที่ไม่หมดอายุของทั้งฝ่ายหญิงและฝ่ายชาย
บัตรประชาชนหรือทะเบียนบ้านของทั้งฝ่ายหญิงและฝ่ายชาย
ในกรณีที่เคยจดทะเบียนสมรสมาก่อนและหย่าแล้ว ต้องมีสำเนาทะเบียนหย่ามาแสดงด้วย
ในวันจดทะเบียนสมรสต้องนำพยานไปด้วย 2 คน พยานต้องนำหนังสือเดินทาง
และบัตรประชาชน หรือสำเนาทะเบียนบ้านไปด้วย
หมายเหตุ : การจดทะเบียนสมรสที่สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองเจนไน มีผลสมบูรณ์
