คาร์บอกซิเมทิลเซลลูโลสหรือซีเอ็มซี

คาร์บอกซิเมทิลเซลลูโลสหรือซีเอ็มซี (carboxymethyl cellulose,CMC) หรือโซเดียมคาร์บอกซิ-เมทิลเซลลูโลส (sodium carboxymethylcellulose) เป็นไฮโดรคอลลอยด์ (hydrocolloid) คือพอลิเมอร์ชนิดชอบน้ำ (hydrophilic) ที่เป็นคาร์โบไฮเดรตซึ่งเป็นอนุพันธ์ของเซลลูโลสนั่นเอง ไฮโดรคอลลอยด์ชนิดนี้ เป็นไฮโดรคอลลอยด์ที่ดัดแปรจากสารที่ได้จากธรรมชาติ (modified natural hydrocolloids) 1 (ดุษฏีและน้องนุช, 2555; สุนทร, 2555; นิธิยา และพิมพ์เพ็ญ, 2552; กฤษณา, 2547)
