การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อแสดงข้อมูลปัจจัยการเกิดโรคไข้มาลาเรียและแสดงพื้นที่เสี่ยงการเกิดโรคไข้มาลาเรีย ของ 5 จังหวัดภาคเหนือตอนล่าง ในรูปแบบ อินเทอร์เน็ต GIS ประโยชน์เพื่อจะได้ทราบถึงพื้นที่เสี่ยงต่อการระบาดของไข้มาลาเรียได้
โดยผู้ศึกษาได้เริ่มจากการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลปัจจัยและงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง จากนั้นจึงนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาหาหาพื้นที่เสียงโดยใช้โปรแกรม Quantum GIS 2.8.8 แล้วนำผลลัพธ์ที่ได้มาใส่ไว้ใน Geoserver เพื่อที่จะใช้ในการแสดงผลบนเว็บบราวเซอร์ โดยการวิเคราะห์สถานการณ์พื้นที่เสี่ยงโรคไข้มาลาเรียด้วยระบบสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ผ่านอินเทอร์เน็ต กรณีศึกษา 5 จังหวัดภาคเหนือตอนล่าง สามารถนำไปใช้ในงานด้านการป้องกันและกำจัดการแพร่ระบาดของไข้มาลาเรียได้
