2.3 พระราชบัญญัติการส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์พลังงาน พ.ศ.2535
กฎกระทรวงกำหนดมาตรฐาน หลักเกณฑ์ และวิธีการจัดการพลังงาน ในโรงงานควบคุมและอาคารควบคุม พ.ศ.2552 ได้กำหนดให้มีการสำรวจและจัดทำรายงานการใช้พลังงานสำหรับอาคารประเภทโรงแรม ซึ่งหมายรวมถึงโรงแรมพักตากอากาศ (Resort Hotel) ซึ่งสามารถทำได้โดยอาศัยการประยุกต์ใช้แนวทางการจัดการพลังงานสำหรับอาคารควบคุม (Royal Thai Government Gazette B.E.2009, 2009, pp.7-12) ส่วนสถานภาพและศักยภาพการอนุรักษ์พลังงานที่สอดคล้องกับพระราชบัญญัติการส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์พลังงานสามารถตรวจสอบได้จากฐานข้อมูลของกรมพัฒนาพลังงานทดแทนและอนุรักษ์พลังงาน (พพ.)
