ใหญ่ๆดังนี้
1.แหล่งกำเนิดจากยานพาหนะ
การเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจอย่างรวดเร็วของประเทศจากภาคเกษตรกรรม มาเป็นภาคอุตสาหกรรมทำให้ปัญหาจราจรติดขัด จะมีปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ สารมลพิษที่ระบายเข้าสู่บรรยากาศที่เกิดจาก การคมนาคมขนส่ง ได้แก่ ก๊าซคาร์บอนมอนอกไซด์ ก๊าซออกไซด์ของไนโตรเจน สารประกอบไฮโดรคาร์บอน ฝุ่นละอองขนาดเล็ก สารตะกั่วและก๊าซซัลเฟอร์ไดออกไซด์
2.แหล่งกำเนิดจากโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม เกิดจากการเผาไหม้เชื้อเพลิงและกระบวนการผลิต
มีอยู่ 3 ประเภท คือ
" เชื้อเพลิงที่เป็นของแข็ง
" เชื้อเพลิงที่เป็นของเหลว ได้แก่ น้ำมันเตา และน้ำมันดีเซล
" เชื้อเพลิงที่เป็นก๊าซ ได้แก่ ก๊าซธรรมชาติ และก๊าซ LPG
