การศึกษาค้นคว้าอิสระครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาระบบแนะแนวการศึกษาต่อ กรณีศึกษาคณะเกษตรศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี ให้สามารถจัดการระบบฐานข้อมูลแนะแนวการศึกษาต่อได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ สามารถทำการดูและค้นหาข้อมูลได้อย่างสะดวกผ่านเครือข่ายอินเตอร์เน็ต เพื่อเป็นข้อมูลเบื้องต้นสำหรับประกอบการตัดสินใจการเลือกสถานศึกษาสำหรับนักศึกษาและบุคลากรที่สนใจ การศึกษาในครั้งนี้ พัฒนาบนระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows XP โดยใช้โปรแกรมภาษา SQL เป็นเครื่องมือสร้างฐานข้อมูล และใช้โปรแกรมภาษา PHP ในการติดต่อฐานข้อมูล และออกแบบเว็บเพจ จากการประเมินประสิทธิภาพของระบบสารสนเทศโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและผู้ใช้งานทั่วไป ด้วยวิธี Black Box Testing ผลการประเมินโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 7.65 และผู้ใช้ทั่วไปได้ค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 7.91 สรุปได้ว่า ระบบมีประสิทธิภาพสามารถนำไปใช้งานได้ในระดับดี
