บทนำ

1.1 ความเป็นมาและความสำคัญของปัญหา

ปัจจุบันภาษาอังกฤษได้เข้ามามีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการดำรงชีวิตของคนไทยสารสนเทศ
ส่วนใหญ่เป็นภาษาอังกฤษซึ่งเป็นภาษาสากล การจัดการศึกษาจึงจำเป็นต้องพัฒนาความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษของผู้เรียนให้อยู่ในระดับที่จะรับและเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษได้เป็นอย่างดี เนื่องจากเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการติดต่อสื่อสารการศึกษาการแสวงหาความรู้การประกอบอาชีพการสร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมวิสัยทัศน์ของชุมชนโลกและความร่วมมือกับประเทศต่างๆช่วยพัฒนาผู้เรียนให้มีความเข้าใจตนเองและผู้อื่นดีขึ้น (กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ. 2551: 1)ดังนั้นจึงต้องมีการปรับเปลี่ยนการสอนของครูโดยนำหลักการและแนวคิดของการจัดการเรียนการสอนที่เน้นผู้เรียนเป็นสำคัญ(Child Centered) ตามพระราชบัญญัติการศึกษาแห่งชาติ พ.ศ.2542 และฉบับปรับปรุง พ.ศ.2545 มาพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนและในส่วนของผู้เรียนก็ต้องศึกษา ค้นคว้าความรู้ด้วยตนเองมากขึ้น รวมทั้งถ่ายทอดความรู้แก่ผู้อื่นมีทักษะในการรับสาร (Receptive Skills) คือทักษะการฟังและการอ่าน ทักษะในการส่งสาร (Productive Skills) คือทักษะการพูดและการเขียน อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
ทักษะการอ่านเป็นทักษะที่จำเป็นและสำคัญอย่างยิ่ง เพราะการอ่านทำให้เกิดสติปัญญา ความรู้ความสามารถ พฤติกรรมและค่านิยมต่าง ๆ การปลูกฝังให้รักการอ่านตั้งแต่เยาว์วัย เป็นพื้นฐานการเรียนรู้อย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดชีวิต แต่จากการศึกษาสภาพปัญหาในการจัดการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษพบว่า การสอนทักษะการอ่านสำหรับนักเรียนไทยพบว่านักเรียนส่วนมากมีความสามารถในด้านการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษอยู่ในระดับต่ำ ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นดังกล่าวอาจมาจากหลายสาเหตุ เช่น ปัญหาด้านครูผู้สอนขาดวิธีการและเทคนิคที่เหมาะสมในการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ ขาดสื่อการอ่านที่จะช่วยส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้และท้าทายให้ผู้เรียนมีความอยากรู้อยากเห็น (สุมิตรา อังวัฒนกุล, 2539 : 150-151) นอกจากนี้ยังมีปัญหาด้านเนื้อหาในบทเรียนที่ไม่เหมาะสมกับผู้เรียน บทเรียนยากเกินไป หรือเป็นเรื่องที่ไม่น่าสนใจ และไม่ทันสมัยทำให้ผู้เรียนไม่มีความกระตือรือร้น มีทัศนคติที่ไม่ดีต่อการเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษซึ่งคล้องกับคำกล่าวของ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.เจอรัลด์-
ฟรายในการบรรยาย เรื่อง การปฏิรูปการศึกษา ปฏิรูปประเทศไทย ว่าปัญหาที่น่าเป็นห่วง คือ เด็กไทยไม่ชอบอ่านหนังสือ ไม่ชอบคิดและไม่ค่อยสนใจศึกษา ทำให้คุณภาพการศึกษาค่อนข้างต่ำ ควรเร่งหาทางแก้ไข โดยให้ข้อเสนอแนะว่าควรปรับปรุงคุณภาพการศึกษาให้เท่าเทียมกันการสอนเน้นให้นักเรียนคิดเป็น รักการอ่าน โดยเฉพาะในยุคโลกาภิวัตน์ เด็กจะต้องเก่งภาษามากขึ้น และต้องปรับปรุงการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อเตรียมเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน (ภัทณิดา พันธุมเสน. 2554 : 11)ดังนั้นการเลือกเนื้อหาที่มีภูมิหลังด้านสังคมและวัฒนธรรมที่คุ้นเคยของผู้เรียนมาใช้ในการเรียนการสอนจึงเป็นอีกแนวทางหนึ่งในการเลือกสื่อที่ใช้ในการเรียนรู้ เพราะจะทำให้การทำความเข้าใจความหมายทางภาษาของผู้เรียนเร็วขึ้น และมีประสิทธิภาพ
นอกจากนี้ การเขียนภาษาอังกฤษก็ถือว่ามีความสำคัญไม่น้อยกว่าทักษะอื่น ๆ เพราะการเขียนเป็นกระบวนการที่ต่อเนื่องกัน เมื่อมีการฟังแล้วก็มีการพูดและหลังจากที่มีการพูดก็มีการจดบันทึกหรืออธิบายให้คนอื่น ๆ รู้และเข้าใจ การจดบันทึกนั้นก็คือการเขียน จะเห็นได้ว่าการเขียนเป็นทักษะที่ช่วยสนับสนุนให้ผู้เรียน เรียนรู้และจดจำในสิ่งที่เรียนได้ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการสะกดคำ การใช้เครื่องหมายวรรคตอน การใช้ไวยากรณ์ และคำศัพท์สำนวนต่าง ๆ ถ้าผู้เรียนมีการฝึกทักษะการเขียนอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ผู้เรียนจะเรียนรู้และจดจำสิ่งที่เรียนได้ดียิ่งขึ้น (กรมวิชาการ. 2542 : 30 )
จากการศึกษาและค้นคว้าวิธีการสอนอ่านและการสอนเขียนภาษาอังกฤษนั้นมีหลายวิธี ผู้วิจัยเห็นว่าวิธีสอนแบบ KWL-Plus เป็นวิธีสอนที่น่าสนใจ เพราะเป็นวิธีสอนที่สามารถใช้ได้ทั้งในด้านการอ่านและการเขียนในคราวเดียวกัน ผู้วิจัยจึงเลือกใช้วิธีสอนแบบ KWL-Plus คิดค้นโดยคาร์ และโอเกิล (Carr &Ogle. 1987 ) ซึ่งเป็นการสอนอ่านที่จัดกิจกรรมให้ผู้อ่านได้นำความรู้เดิมของตนที่มีอยู่แล้ว ไปช่วยตีความในเนื้อเรื่องที่อ่าน ให้มีความเข้าใจในสิ่งที่อ่านมากขึ้น ในขณะเดียวกันสามารถนำไปพัฒนาทักษะทั้งสี่ของการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ คือ การฟัง การพูด การอ่าน และการเขียนไปพร้อมๆ กัน แต่จะเน้นความเข้าใจในการอ่านเป็นหลัก และให้นักเรียนสามารถแสดงความเข้าใจจากเรื่องที่อ่านได้ด้วยการสรุปความในตอนท้ายโดยใช้การเขียนแผนผังความคิด(Mind Map) ซึ่งเป็นรูปแบบการจดบันทึกที่สร้างสรรค์ สามารถแสดงให้เห็นความคิดได้ง่ายและชัดเจนดังที่ ชาตรี เกิดธรรม (2545) กล่าวว่า แผนผังความคิด เป็นการแสดงโครงสร้างของกระบวนการคิดและความสัมพันธ์ของกระบวนการคิดตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ ซึ่งจะทำให้นักเรียนสามารถบรรลุจุดมุ่งหมายของการอ่านและการเขียนได้
ด้วยความตระหนักถึงความสำคัญและปัญหาข้างต้น ผู้วิจัยได้นำวิธีการสอนแบบKWL-Plusมาใช้ในการจัดการเรียนรู้ทักษะการอ่านและการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6โดยใช้หลักการและแนวคิดของการเรียนการสอนที่เน้นผู้เรียนเป็นสำคัญ (Child Centered) เพื่อนำผลที่ได้จากการศึกษาไปใช้เป็นแนวทางในการจัดการเรียนรู้วิชาภาษาอังกฤษให้มีประสิทธิภาพต่อไป

การจัดการเรียนรู้ทักษะการอ่านและการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษโดยใช้การสอนแบบเคดับเบิ้ลยูแอลพลัส จะทำให้ผู้เรียนมีความพึงพอใจเพียงใด

1.3 วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย

ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ ผู้วิจัยได้ตั้งวัตถุประสงค์ ไว้ดังนี้
1. เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของผู้เรียนที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้ทักษะการอ่านและการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษโดยใช้การสอนแบบเคดับเบิ้ลยูแอลพลัส
