เมื่อวันที่ 19 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2529 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้า ฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทรงบรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ รวมทั้งพระธาตุของพระอริยสาวก ในสถูปศิลาขนาดเล็ก ณ พระอุโบสถวัดบวรนิเวศวิหาร และหนึ่งในจำนวนของสถูปศิลาที่ได้บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ ได้ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้า ฯ ถวายแด่สมเด็จพระญาณสังวร สมเด็จพระสังฆราช สกลมหาสังฆปริณายก และพะราชทานพรบรมสารีริกธาตุแก่ พลเอก พิจิตร กุลละวณิชย์ เพื่อให้อัญเชิญไปประดิษฐานประจำสำนักสงฆ์วิชมัยปุญญาราม บ้านเขาค้อ อำเภอเขาค้อ จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์
