ราษฎรตำบลท่างิ้ว ตำบลหนองช้างแล่น และตำบลห้วยนาง ได้มีหนังสือของพระราชทานสร้างอ่างเก็บน้ำและระบบส่งน้ำ เมื่อวันที่ 25 กันยายน 2532 เพื่อใช้ในการเกษตรกรรมและการอุปโภค - บริโภค 22 หมู่บ้าน เนื้อที่เกษตรกรรมประมาณ 16,000 ไร่ สำนักราชเลขาธิการ จึงได้มีหนังสือที่ รล.005/13053 ลงวันที่ 30 กันยายน 2532 ขอให้กรมชลประทานพิจารณา เพื่อนำความกราบบังคมทูลพระกรุณาเป็นงาพระราชดำริ กรม ฯ ได้พิจารณาและมีหนังสือที่ กษ 0301/903 ลงวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2533 ตอบราชเลขาธิการ ความว่าบริเวณที่ราษฎรร้องเรียนมีลู่ทางก่อสร้างโครงการอ่างเก็บน้ำคลองท่างิ้วสมควรนำความกราบบังคมทูลพระกรุณารับเป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ ซึ่งกรมฯ จะดำเนินการศึกษาขั้นรายละเอียด สำรวจ ออกแบบ และดำเนินการก่อสร้างตามความเหมาะสมโดยเร่งด่วนต่อไป
ต่อมาสำนักราชเลขาธิการได้มีหนังสือที่ รล.0005/3231 ลงวันที่ 2 มีนาคม 2533 แจ้งกรม ฯ ว่าได้นำความกราบบังคมทูลพระกรุณาทราบฝ่าละอองธุลีพระบาทแล้วโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อม ให้รับโครงการอ่างเก็บน้ำคลองท่างิ้วไว้เป็นโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ
ลักษณะโครงการ
