คำว่า “หลักสูตร” หรือในภาษาอังกฤษใช้คำว่า “ Curriculum ” ได้มีนักวิชาการทางการศึกษาได้ให้คำนิยามหรือความหมายของหลักสูตรไว้หลายทัศนะดังนี้
หลักสูตรคือ สิ่งที่สอนในโรงเรียน
