ตั้งแต่เดือน กันยายน 2547 บริษัทฯได้จำหน่ายหุ้นให้กับพนักงานจำนวน 13,896,150 หุ้น ในราคาหุ้นละ 15 บาท ภายใต้โครงการจัดสรรหลักทรัพย์ให้พนักงาน (Employee Securities Option Plan) โดยบริษัทฯ จะยังคงจำหน่ายหุ้นให้กับพนักงานที่ถือใบสำคัญแสดงสิทธิในการซื้อหุ้นภายใต้โครงการดังกล่าวจนกระทั่งสิ้นสุดโครงการในเดือนเมษายน 2549 และเดือนกันยายน ปี 2553 บริษัทฯ ได้มีการเพิ่มทุนหุ้นสามัญ ซึ่งได้รับความสนใจอย่างมากจากทั้งผู้ถือหุ้นเดิมของบริษัทฯและนักลงทุนรายย่อย เนื่องจากนักลงทุนมีความเชื่อมั่นต่อการบินไทย และจากผลประกอบการที่ดีขึ้นกว่าปีที่ผ่านมา
