1. การอ่าน คือ การว่าตามตัวหนังสือ ออกเสียงตามตัวหนังสือ ดู เข้าใจความจากตัวหนังสือ สังเกตหรือพิจารณา คิด นับ ให้เข้าใจความหมาย
2. การอ่าน คือ ความเข้าใจสัญลักษณ์ เครื่องหมาย รูปภาพ ตัวอักษร คำและข้อความที่พิมพ์หรือเขียนขึ้นมาเอง
