สมาคมยานยนต์ในประเทสอังกฤษ ( AA ) และราชยานยนต์สโมสร ( RAC ) จัดกลุ่มระดับของโรงแรมแล้วยังนับเป็นเครื่องหมายรับรองคุณภาพของโรงแรมในแต่ละกลุ่มด้วย

การจัดมาตรฐานมีดังนี้

มาตรฐานโรงแรม 1 ดาว หมายถึง โรงแรมที่มีขนาดเล็ก มีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกและเฟอร์นิเจอร์พอประมาณ มีห้องน้ำเพียงพอในลักษณะของการใช้ร่วมกัน มีบริการอาหารและเครื่องดื่มสำหรับผู้มาพักเท่านั้น
