Superman was not born on the Earth. He was born on a planet called Krypton, far away in space. Its sun was red. Superman's father, Jor-el, was a scientist. He knew Krypton would blow up, and told people they had to build spaceships and leave the planet. Noboby believed him. Jor-el and his wife Lar-el built a small spaceship for their baby son because they did not have enough time to build a big spaceship. They sent him into space and then died when Krypton exploded. The little spaceship landed in America, and Mr. and Mrs.Kent took care of the baby they found. The light from the Earth's yellow sun made him very strong and able to fly because yellow sunlight changes the bodies of people from the planet Krypton.The baby grew up to be Clark Kent-otherwise known as Superman.
