การไหว้เป็นประเพณีไทยโบราณ เป็นวิธีเคารพแก่ผู้ควรเคารพ จึงควรเลือกใช้ให้เหมาะแก่กาละเทศะ
๑. การไหว้มีหลายวิธี มีทั้งนั่งไหว้ยืนไหว้ เพื่อเคารพบุคคลธรรมดาที่เป็นผู้ใหญ่กว่าตน
ก. วิธีนั่งไหว้ นั่งพับเพียบพนมมือทั้งสองข้างขึ้นไว้ระดับอก ก้มศีรษะลงให้หัวแม่มือจรดกันที่หว่างคิ้ว
