พันธกิจ

๑. ด้านการวิจัย พัฒนาบุคลากร (Standard) เป็นผู้สนับสนุนและดำเนินการวิจัยด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรมภายใต้กระบวนการ "เรียนรู้"

๒. บริการวิชาการ พัฒนาองค์กรเป็นฐานความรู้ด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรม (Center of Arts) ภายใต้กระบวนการ "เสริมแรง"

๓. ทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรม พัฒนาและสร้างเครือข่าย (Network) ด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรมผ่านกระบวนการ "แบ่งปัน"

วัตถุประสงค์

๑. เพื่อเป็นหน่วยงานที่รับผิดชอบดำเนินภารกิจ และประสานความร่วมมือด้านการทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรมภายในมหาวิทยาลัย

๒. เพื่อเป็นหน่วยงานประสานความร่วมมือ และพัฒนาเครือข่ายการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้กับองค์กรด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรมและอารยธรรมศึกษาภายนอกมหาวิทยาลัย

๓. เพื่อเป็นองค์กรนำด้านการวิจัย และศูนย์กลางองค์ความรู้ทางด้านอารยธรรมในพื้นที่ลุ่มน้ำโขง - สาละวิน

๔.เพื่อเป็นองค์กรที่พัฒนาองค์ความรู้ และให้บริการวิชาการด้านอารยธรรมในพื้นที่ลุ่มน้ำโขง - สาละวิน ที่สามารถประยุกต์ใช้ประโยชน์ได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม
