ที่มาและความสำคัญ
การละเล่นของไทยในสมัยก่อนนั้น มีวิธีการเล่นที่สนุกสนานและหลากหลาย การละเล่นของเด็กไทยในสมัยก่อน ได้รับการสืบทอดมาจากบรรพบุรุษหลายประเภท อาทิ โก๋งเก๋ง,โพงพางและอีกมากมาย บางประเภทก็มี บทร้อง ท่าทางประกอบ ข้อตกลงในการเล่นของแต่ละท้องถิ่น บางครั้งก็เล่นเพื่อการแข่งขัน และเล่นเพื่อความสนุกสนาน ในบางการละเล่นก็สามารถเล่นได้โดยทั่วไปแต่ในบางการละเล่นสามารถที่จะเล่นตามโอกาสต่างๆได้ ซึ่งได้รับความบันเทิงเป็นอย่างมาก การละเล่นของไทยนี้ก็เป็นอีกอย่างหนึ่งที่ทำให้คนไทยสมัยก่อนมีความสุข ซึ่งในภาคเหนือของเรานั้นก็มีการละเล่นที่หลากหลายแต่ก็แสดงถึงเอกลักษณ์ วัฒนธรรม วิถีชีวิตต่างๆที่บ่งบอกถึงคนท้องถิ่นภาคเหนือ ทว่าในปัจจุบันสังคมมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงทำให้การละเล่นพื้นบ้านของไทยนั้นเลือนหายไป เด็กและเยาวชนรุ่นใหม่โดยมากจะใช้เทคโนโลยีเป็นส่วนมากในการผ่อนคลายแทนการละเล่นเหมือนในอดีต จึงเป็นเรื่องที่น่าเสียดายที่เด็กและเยาวชนไทยสมัยนี้มีน้อยมากที่จะรู้ถึงวิธีการเล่น ดังนั้นเราควรสนใจเรื่องการละเล่นพื้นบ้านของไทย เพื่ออนุรักษ์และสืบทอด การละเล่นของไทยให้รู้จักกันแพร่หลายในสังคมไทยปัจจุบัน

วัตถุประสงค์ของโครงงาน
1.เพื่ออนุรักษ์การละเล่นของท้องถิ่นให้อยู่กับท้องถิ่นไปนานๆ
2.เพื่อให้ความรู้แก่เด็กและเยาวชนหรือผู้ที่สนใจได้ศึกษา
3.เพื่อให้คณะผู้จัดทำได้รับประสบการณ์จากการทำงานร่วมกัน

ขอบเขตของการศึกษาค้นคว้า
ชุมชนท้องถิ่นและโรงเรียน
ประโยชน์ที่คาดว่าจะได้รับ
1.สามารถที่จะอนุรักษ์การละเล่นของท้องถิ่นให้อยู่คู่กับคนท้องถิ่นไปนานๆ
2.เด็กและเยาวชนหรือบุคคลที่สนใจจะได้รับความรู้จากการที่ศึกษา
3.คณะผู้จัดทำได้ประสบการณ์ในการทำงานร่วมกัน
