วัตถุประสงค์ของสัมนาครั้งนี้ เพื่อศึกษาการตรวจสอบลายนิ้วมือแฝงบนกระดาษด้วยวิธี1,2-indanedione โดยทำการทดสอบกับกระดาษตัวอย่าง 15 ชนิด โดยเปรียบเทียบกับวิธี ninhydrin ซึ่งผลลัพธ์ที่ได้ คือวิธี1,2-indanedionlk มีประสิทธิภาพในการตรวจสอบลายมือแฝงบนกระดาษได้ดีกว่าวิธี ninhydrin แล้วในการพัฒนาวิธีการตรวจสอบลายนิ้วมือ จะทำให้สามารถมองเห็นลายนิ้วมือที่แฝงอยู่บนกระดาษได้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งจะเป็นผลดีต่อการชี้ตัวบุคคลของกองพิสูจน์หลักฐานในคดีอาญา
