พื้นที่ของอุทยานส่วนใหญ่เป็นป่าริมเขาสูงชัน พื้นที่ส่วนใหญ่ หรือ มากกว่าสามส่วนสี่มีความลาดชันมากกว่าร้อยละ ๓๐ พื้นที่ร้อยละ ๘๕ ปกคลุมไปด้วยป่าดิบเขา และที่เหลืออีกร้อยละ ๑๐ เป็นป่าผลัดใบ ป่ามีความร่ำรวยและซับซ้อน ทั้งมีพืชประเภทพืชเบียน เฟิร์น และกล้วยไม้ ป่ามีความหลากหลายเป็นพิเศษเนื่องจากพื้นที่ที่อยู่บนรอยเชื่อมกันระหว่างทวีปเอเชีย
