งานวิจัย การประเมินศักยภาพการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศในเขตวนอุทยานป่าสนหนองคู ตำบลทับทัน อำเภอสังขะ จังหวัดสุรินทร์ มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาบริบทพื้นที่ทางการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศในเขตวนอุทยานป่าสนหนองคู และเพื่อประเมินศักยภาพในการเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศของวนอุทยานป่าสนหนองคู ประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ ผู้ประกอบการ เจ้าหน้าที่ในอุทยาน และหัวหน้าครอบครัวชุมชนบ้านกระทม จำนวน 201 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ สถิติค่าเฉลี่ย และค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ซึ่งสามารถสรุปได้ดังนี้
ผลการศึกษา พบว่า การประเมินศักยภาพการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศในเขตวนอุทยานป่าสนหนองคู พบว่า ในแต่ละด้านมีค่าเฉลี่ยในระดับเหมือนกัน ซึ่งองค์ประกอบด้านพื้นที่ อยู่ในระดับที่ปานกลาง ด้วยค่าเฉลี่ย 3.34 ค่า S.D. 0.83 องค์ประกอบด้านการจัดการ อยู่ในระดับที่ปานกลาง ด้วยค่าเฉลี่ย 2.82 ค่า S.D. 0.87 องค์ประกอบด้านกิจกรรมและกระบวนการ อยู่ในระดับที่ปานกลาง ด้วยค่าเฉลี่ย 2.72 ค่า S.D. 0.83 และองค์ประกอบด้านการมีส่วนร่วม อยู่ในระดับที่มาก ด้วยค่าเฉลี่ย 3.69 ค่า S.D. 0.88 สำหรับการสังเกต พบว่าศักยภาพในการเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศมีสิ่งดึงดูดด้านการท่องเที่ยวและการเรียนรู้ มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์และความปลอดภัยในแหล่งท่องเที่ยวการจัดการการใช้ประโยชน์ของพื้นที่ มีการจัดการด้านการให้ความรู้และสร้างจิตสำนึก มีศูนย์บริการข้อมูล มีการให้ความรู้ถึงคุณค่าของทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและการบริหารจัดการท่องเที่ยวและชุมชนมีรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยว
