วันเด็กแห่งชาติ ในประเทศไทย ตรงกับวันเสาร์ที่สองของเดือนมกราคมของทุกปี เป็นวันหยุดราชการที่มิได้ชดเชยในวันทำงานถัดไป มีการให้คำขวัญวันเด็กทุกปีโดยนายกรัฐมนตรีไทย เริ่มต้นจัดงานวันเด็กครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 3 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2498 โดยได้กำหนดให้วันจันทร์แรกของเดือนตุลาคม เป็นวันเด็กแห่งชาติ จนกระทั่งในปี พ.ศ. 2506 ได้มีมติเปลี่ยนแปลงวันเด็กแห่งชาติมาเป็นวันเสาร์ที่สองของเดือนมกราคม โดยเริ่มจัดงานวันเด็กในปี พ.ศ. 2508 เป็นต้นมา
