งานประเพณีปีใหม่ลาว หรือกุดสงกรานต์ ตรงกับสงกรานต์ของไทยเป็นเทศกาลสำคัญประจำปีและเป็นวันหยุดยาวระหว่างวันที่ 14 - 16 เมษายนของทุกปี

โดยงานปีใหม่ลาวที่หลวงพระบางเป็นงานเทศกาลที่ได้รับความนิยมจากนักท่องเที่ยวจากทั่วโลก โดยจะจัดเป็นเวลาสี่วัน กล่าวคือ
