เนื่องจากในปัจจุบันเยาวชนไทยเข้าถึงวรรณคดีไทยได้น้อยลง เนื่องจากมีสื่อการ์ตูนจากต่างประเทศเข้ามามาก อีกทั้งภาษาที่ใช้ในวรรณคดีค่อนข้างเข้าใจยาก จึงส่งผลให้เยาวชนไทยห่างไกลจากวรรณคดีไทย นอกจากนี้สื่อเกี่ยวกับวรรณคดีไทยในปัจจุบันไม่มีความหลากหลายในการเรียนรู้ และสื่อการเรียนรู้ที่มีอยู่ไม่น่าสนใจเท่าที่ควร เพื่อให้เด็กและบุคคลทั่วไปที่สนใจในวรรณกรรมเรื่อง รามเกียรติ์ ได้ศึกษาและเข้าถึงวรรณกรรมไทยมากขึ้น และช่วยส่งเสริมให้ชาวต่างชาติได้รู้จัดวรรณคดีของไทย ดังนั้นทางคณะผู้จัดทำจึงจัดทำการ์ตูนเอนิเมชัน 2D เรื่องรามเกียรติ์ ตอน สุครีพหักฉัตร ศึกไมยราพ พร้อมซับไตเติ้ลภาษาอังกฤษ
ดังนั้นจึงเป็นที่มาของโครงการชื่อ “รามเกียรติ์ ตอนสุครีพหักฉัตร ศึกไมยราพ” โดยจะเป็นการ์ตูน 2 มิติ เพื่อให้เด็กและเยาวชน ได้เรียนรู้เรื่องราวของวรรณคดีไทยใน รูปแบบใหม่ที่น่าสนใจมากขึ้นเหมาะแก่การเรียนรู้ และเป็นอีกทางเลือกหนึ่งสำหรับเยาวชนได้ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับวรรณคดีไทย
