งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงระดับความพร้อมของผู้ประกอบการธุรกิจที่มีต่อมาตรฐานรายงานทางการเงินของไทยสำหรับธุรกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม และเพื่อทราบถึงการยอมรับมาตรฐานรายงานทางการเงินของไทยสำหรับธุรกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อมของผู้ประกอบการ เป็นการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามจากผู้ประกอบการธุรกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อมในภาคใต้ที่จดทะเบียนต่อกรมพัฒนาธุรกิจการค้า จำนวน 54,107 ราย โดยผู้วิจัยได้กำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 313 ตัวอย่าง
