เทศกาลนี้มีระยะเวลาถึง 10 วัน ซึ่งตลอดทั้ง 10 วันนั้นชาวบ้านจะทำพิธีสวดที่วัดเพื่ออุทิศส่วนกุศลให้วิญญาณบรรพบุรุษหลังจากงานวันสุดท้ายเสร็จสิ้น วันต่อมาชาวบ้านเชื่อกันว่าเป็นวันที่วิญญาณกลับสู่สวรรค์ ชาวบ้านจะเซ่นไหว้ด้วยอาหารพิเศษก็คือ ข้าวเปลือก
