อาจารย์จักรพันธุ์ โปษยกฤต เกิดเมื่อ

อาจารย์จักรพันธุ์ โปษยกฤต เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 16 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2486 ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร บุตร นายชุบและนางสว่างจันทร์ โปษยกฤต ระยะแรกเข้าศึกษา ต่อที่โรงเรียนวชิราวุธวิทยาลัย จากนั้นจึงเข้าศึกษาต่อที่มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรได้รับการยกย่องเชิดชูเกียรติเป็นศิลปินแห่งชาติ สาขาทัศนศิลป์ (จิตรกรรม) ประจำปีพุทธศักราช 2543 ได้รับการยกย่องเป็น 1 ใน 52 นายช่างเอกในรอบ 200 ปี แห่งกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ อาจารย์จักรพันธุ์ เคยเป็นพระอาจารย์พิเศษถวายการสอนวิชาจิตรกรรมให้กับทูลกระหม่อมหญิงอุบลรัตนราชกัญญา สิริวัฒนาพรรณวดี และสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ปัจจุบันได้ก่อตั้งมูลนิธิจักรพันธุ์ โปษยกฤต ซึ่งเป็นทั้งพิพิธภัณฑ์ มูลนิธิ สถานที่ทำงาน และโรงละครหุ่นกระบอก ขึ้นที่บริเวณบ้านพัก ถนนเอกมัยอาจารย์จักรพันธุ์ โปษยกฤต เป็นศิลปินอิสระที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านจิตรกรรมทั้งแบบไทยประเพณีและศิลปะร่วมสมัย มีเอกลักษณ์เป็นของตนเอง อีกทั้งผลงานอื่นๆ ได้แก่ งานพุทธศิลป์ ประเภทจิตรกรรมฝาผนังโบสถ์ เช่น โบสถ์วัดตรีทศเทพวรวิหาร วัดเขาสุกิม งานประติมากรรมไทย เช่น ประติมากรรมรูปเจ้าเงาะกับเด็กเลี้ยงควาย จากเรื่องสังข์ทอง พระราชนิพนธ์ในพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย ที่อุทยานพระบรมราชานุสรณ์พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย จังหวัดสมุทรสงคราม งานหุ่นกระบอก เช่น หุ่นกระบอกเรื่องสามก๊ก ลิลิตตะเลงพ่าย งานซ่อมหุ่นวังหน้า เป็นต้น
