เมื่อวันที่ 21 สิงหาคม 2536 ทางราชการโดยสำนักงานศึกษาธิการอำเภอนาเชือก ได้สงวนพื้นที่ดังกล่าวให้เป็นทรัพยากรชาติที่มีคุณค่ารียกชื่อใหม่ว่า “ สวนป่าจุฬาภรณ์ ”
