รัชนก อินทนนท์ (ชื่อเล่น: เมย์; 5 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2538 ที่จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด เติบโตที่จังหวัดยโสธร[7]— ) เป็นนักกีฬาแบดมินตันชาวไทย ในวันที่ 11 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2556 รัชนก อินทนนท์ ได้ก้าวขึ้นสู่การเป็นแชมป์โลกจากการแข่งขันเวิลด์แชมเปียนชิพ และเป็นการสร้างประวัติศาสตร์แชมป์โลกแบดมินตันที่มีอายุน้อยที่สุด[8] ปัจจุบัน รัชนกสังกัดสโมสรโรงเรียนแบดมินตันบ้านทองหยอด และเล่นให้แก่สโมสรชิงเต่าในลีกระดับโลกที่ประเทศจีนตั้งแต่ปี 2555 โดยเซ็นสัญญาแบบปีต่อปี[2]

รัชนก อินทนนท์ เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 5 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2538 ที่จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด ซึ่งเป็นบ้านเกิดของมารดา เป็นบุตรของวินัสชัย อินทนนท์ ชาวจังหวัดยโสธร และคำผัน สุวรรณศาลา มีน้องชาย 1 คนคือ รัชพล อินทนนท์ เมื่ออายุ 3 เดือน รัชนกได้ย้ายเข้ากรุงเทพมหานครติดตามบิดาและมารดา ซึ่งมาทำงานที่โรงงานทำขนมบ้านทองหยอด และได้ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ที่โรงงานบ้านทองหยอด นับแต่นั้น[9] นอกจากนั้นรัชนกยังมีกมลา ทองกร เจ้าของโรงงานบ้านทองหยอด เป็นมารดาบุญธรรมอีกด้วย

รัชนกเริ่มเล่นกีฬาแบดมินตัน เมื่ออายุได้ 6 ปี เนื่องจากกมลา ทองกร เกรงว่ารัชนกจะวิ่งเล่นซุกซนภายในโรงงานจนเกิดอุบัติเหตุได้ จึงได้นำเธอมาหัดเล่นแบดมินตันตั้งแต่บัดนั้น หนึ่งปีต่อมาเธอได้ลงแข่งขันเป็นครั้งแรก ในรายการอุดรธานี โอเพ่น และได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศเป็นครั้งแรก

รัชนกสำเร็จการศึกษา ระดับมัธยมตอนต้นจากโรงเรียนกสิณธรอาคาเดมี่[10] มัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายจากโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญธนบุรี และปัจจุบันกำลังศึกษาต่อ ระดับอุดมศึกษาที่ คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพธนบุรี

ปี พ.ศ. 2550 ด้วยวัยเพียง 12 ปี รัชนกลงแข่งขัน รายการแบดมินตันชิงชนะเลิศแห่งประเทศไทยเป็นครั้งแรก และได้รับเหรียญทองแดง ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2551 เธอได้รับเหรียญเงิน[11] และปี พ.ศ. 2552 เธอได้รับเหรียญทองเป็นครั้งแรก โดยเอาชนะสลักจิต พลสนะ อดีตแชมป์ประเทศไทย ได้ในรองรอบชนะเลิศ และเอาชนะทรัพย์สิรี แต้รัตนชัย ได้ในรอบชิงชนะเลิศ[12]

ในระดับเยาวชน รัชนกลงแข่งขัน รายการ บีดับเบิลยูเอฟ เวิลด์จูเนียร์แชมเชียนชิพ หรือเยาวชนชิงชนะเลิศแห่งโลก เป็นครั้งแรกในปี พ.ศ. 2551 โดยเข้าถึงรอบ 8 คนสุดท้าย ก่อนที่จะพ่ายให้กับหวัง ซื่อเสียนจากสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน ปีต่อมา พ.ศ. 2552 รัชนกลงแข่งขันในรายการนี้อีกครั้ง และได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศ เหรียญทอง เป็นครั้งแรก ด้วยการเอาชนะพรทิพย์ บูรณะประเสริฐสุข รุ่นพี่ทีมชาติไทย ในรอบชิงชนะเลิศ โดยเธอถือเป็นนักแบดมินตันหญิงเดี่ยวที่อายุน้อยที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ รวมถึงเป็นนักแบดมินตันไทยคนแรก ที่ได้รับตำแหน่งนี้[13]

พ.ศ. 2553
ในปี พ.ศ. 2553 รัชนกเริ่มก้าวเข้าสู่การแข่งขันในระดับทั่วไปในรายการที่ใหญ่ขึ้น และสามารถทำผลงานได้ดีในหลายรายการ ในเดือนตุลาคม ด้วยวัย 15 ปี รัชนกสามารถคว้าแชมป์แรกในระดับกรังด์ปรีซ์ และกรังด์ปรีซ์ โกลด์ ให้กับตัวเอง ได้ที่ประเทศเวียดนาม และอินโดนีเซียตามลำดับ[14][15] และในรอบปีนั้น ยังทำผลงาน เข้ารอบก่อนรองชนะเลิศได้ในรายการไชน่า ซูเปอร์ซีรีส์ พรีเมียร์, ฮ่องกง ซูเปอร์ซีรีส์, ไชนีส ไทเป กรังด์ปรีซ์โกลด์ และโคเรีย กรังด์ปรีซ์โกลด์

ต่อมาในเดือนพฤศจิกายน รัชนกเข้าร่วมแข่งขันกีฬาเอเชียนเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 16 ในนามทีมชาติไทย และได้รับรางวัลเหรียญเงิน ในประเภททีมหญิง โดยในรอบชิงชนะเลิศ เธอลงแข่งขันในฐานะเดี่ยวมือ 1 และพ่ายให้กับหวัง ซิน นักแบดมินตันมือ 1 ของโลกในสมัยนั้นไปอย่างสูสี 1-2 เกม 22-20 17-21 14-21[16]

อนึ่ง ในระดับเยาวชน รัชนกยังทำผลงานได้ดีอย่างต่อเนื่อง ด้วยการคว้าเหรียญทอง ประเภทหญิงเดี่ยว รายการแบดมินตันเยาวชนชิงแชมป์โลก ได้เป็นสมัยที่ 2 ติดต่อกัน[17] ส่วนในการแข่งขันแบดมินตันชิงชนะเลิศแห่งประเทศไทย ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2553 รัชนกเข้าถึงรอบรองชนะเลิศ ก่อนจะพ่ายต่อสลักจิต พลสนะ 21-14 21-15[18]

พ.ศ. 2554
ในปี พ.ศ. 2554 รัชนกเป็นนักแบดมินตันที่ประสบความสำเร็จมากที่สุด ในรายการ บีดับเบิลยูเอฟ เวิลด์จูเนียร์แชมเชียนชิพ ด้วยการสร้างประวัติศาสตร์ คว้าแชมป์เยาวชนชิงชนะเลิศแห่งโลก ได้เป็นสมัยที่ 3 ติดต่อกัน เป็นคนแรกในประวัติศาสตร์แบดมินตันโลก[19]

เดือนพฤศจิกายนปีเดียวกัน รัชนกเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันกีฬาซีเกมส์ 2011 ในฐานะผู้เล่นทีมชาติไทย โดยลงแข่งขันทั้งในประเภทหญิงเดี่ยว และในประเภททีมหญิง ซึ่งรัชนกสามารถคว้ามาได้ 1 เหรีญทอง และ 1 เหรียญทองแดง จากประเภททีมหญิง และหญิงเดี่ยว ตามลำดับ

ในส่วนของผลงานรายการเก็บคะแนนสะสมในรอบปี รัชนกทำผลงานได้ดีที่สุด ด้วยการคว้าแชมป์ในรายการ อินเดีย โอเพ่น กรังด์ปรีซ์โกลด์ ในเดือนธันวาคม

ปี พ.ศ. 2555 รัชนกสามารถทำผลงาน ผ่านเข้าสู่รอบชิงชนะเลิศได้ในรายการ ไทยแลนด์ โอเพ่น กรังด์ปรีซ์ โกลด์ ก่อนที่จะพ่ายต่อไซน่า เนห์วาล ไป 1-2 เซต ทำให้ได้เพียงอันดับสอง ต่อมาในเดือนสิงหาคมปีเดียวกัน รัชนกได้รับสิทธิ์เข้าแข่งขันโอลิมปิก 2012 ณ กรุงลอนดอน สหราชอาณาจักร เป็นครั้งแรก ในฐานะมือวางอันดับ 11 ของโลก[20] โดยเธอสามารถผ่านรอบแรกไปได้ และสามารถเอาชนะจูเลียน เชงค์จากเยอรมันไปได้ในรอบ 16 คนสุดท้าย[21] ก่อนที่จะแพ้หวัง ซิน จากจีนในรอบ 8 คนสุดท้ายไป 1-2 เซต[22]
